Christmas fairs in Romania are much-loved events that attract and delight locals and tourists alike. They bring a festive spirit to towns and cities, with glittering decorations, delicious food, handicrafts and a variety of cultural and recreational activities.
In 2024, more cities are expected to organize Christmas fairs. Here are some of the most popular Christmas fairs in Romania and when they take place:
Craiova Christmas Fair (November 15, 2024 – January 5, 2025)
It takes place from November 15, 2024 to January 5, 2025 in the heart of Craiova, more precisely in Mihai Viteazul Square and the main theme is inspired by the story of Beauty and the Beast, but each square will have a different concept such as Star Wars or Santa Claus Village. Last year Craiova came 2nd in the ranking of the most beautiful Christmas Fairs in Europe and we hope that this year it will be just as appreciated.
Sibiu Christmas Fair (November 15, 2024 – January 5, 2025)
Recognized for its festive atmosphere, the Sibiu Christmas Fair will take place from November 15, 2024 to January 5, 2025 in the Main Square and beyond. This year’s edition is titled “Christmas Unboxed” and the experiences will expand to several locations in the city and as attractions we will find here the following: 22-meter panoramic Ferris Wheel, 600 square meter natural ice skating rink and many more. Little Square will be the place dedicated to the little ones and will host “Santa’s Land”.
Christmas Fair in Cluj-Napoca (November 22, 2024 – January 1, 2025)
The Christmas Fair Cluj-Napoca 2024 will take place from November 22, 2024 to January 1, 2025. In 2023 the fair took place in the Union Square and on the “Horia Demian” Sports Hall, but this year we don’t know so clear details so far. We are looking forward to updates on what surprises are waiting for us this year in Cluj, until then you can check the official websites and social media pages for more information.
Christmas Fair in Timisoara (November 30, 2024 – January 5, 2025)
The Timisoara Christmas Fair will open its doors on November 30, 2024, St. Andrew’s Day and will close on January 05, 2025. The event will take place in three squares in the Cetate: Victoriei Square, Libertății Square and St. Gheorghe Square. Carols concerts and various artistic programs will be organized and the usual little houses will be available for visitors with all kinds of culinary products, hot drinks and decorations.
Christmas Fair in Oradea (November 29 – December 26, 2024)
Discover the magic of the holidays at the Christmas Fair that will take place from November 29 to December 26, 2024. The fair opens its gates to bring the magic of the winter holidays to Unirii Square and Ferdinand Square where you are awaited with lots of goodies, festive shows, handcrafted gifts, all in a fairytale setting ready to capture your attention and conquer your hearts. You are welcome in Oradea to enjoy the beauty of winter holidays.
Bucharest Christmas Fair (November 29 – December 26, 2024)
The Bucharest Christmas Fair will take place from November 29, 2024 to December 26, 2024 in Constitution Square. This will be the 17th edition of the official event dedicated to the winter holidays in Bucharest where craftsmen from all over the country, local producers and authentic creators will be waiting ready to showcase their best products and creations for people to enjoy. More than 100 booths will be available again this year at the big event in the capital and visitors will enjoy carol concerts, an ice rink and many other surprises on offer. As before, the festive lighting will be switched on the opening night of the event.
Christmas Fair in Brasov (November 29, 2024 – January 7, 2025)
The Christmas Fair in Brasov will take place from November 29, 2024 to January 7, 2025 in the Piața Sfatului. The event is eagerly awaited by locals but also by tourists who spend their winter holidays here. As always this fair brings together local producers, artisans and craftsmen, ready to offer visitors beautiful, tasty and unique experiences through the products on offer. Traditional dishes and many other culinary delights will be ready to delight your taste buds. Beautifully decorated cottages, Christmas lights and a tall Christmas tree, carol concerts and many activities are waiting for you again this year in Brasov to enjoy the magic of winter holidays.
Iasi Christmas Fair (November 30, 2024 – January 5, 2025)
The Christmas Fair in Iași will take place on the line Bd. Ștefan cel Mare – Piața Unirii – Str. Lăpușneanu from November 30, 2024 to January 5, 2025. The festive atmosphere in Iași will be found on 5 different stretches. Ștefan cel Mare Boulevard, between I. C. Brătianu Street and the Book House, will host an amusement park including the “Children’s Little Orphanage” and a giant Ferris wheel for the little ones. Between the Palace of Culture Square and the Casa Cărții in Iasi, visitors will discover little houses with decorations, mulled wine and other delicacies and in front of the City Hall, there will be little houses with handicrafts and decorations. The “Tradiții pe ulița Lăpușneanu” (Traditions on Lăpușneanu Street) fair will take place in Unirii Square and Lăpușneanu Street.
Christmas Fair in Piatra Neamt (December 1, 2024 – January 7, 2025)
The Christmas Fair in Piatra Neamț will open its doors on December 1, 2024 at 18:00 – January 7, 2025. Throughout this period, visitors are expected to fill their souls with the magic of winter holidays in the center of the city where they will have wonderful moments in a festive atmosphere that will warm their hearts.
