Festivals in Mamaia resort – the pole of entertainment for the summer season
Mamaia is the annual vacation spot for tens of thousands of Romanian tourists, as well as foreigners from all over the world. The fine sand, the crystal clear water and the diversity of the entertainment venues have turned the resort into one of the most popular vacation spots in south eastern Europe, famous for the national and international music festivals that are held here every season.
SUNWAVES Electronic Music Festival
It takes place every year on the beach in the northern area of Mamaia resort. It is the longest festival in Romania, for 5 days and 5 nights. It has a spring edition and an autumn edition. The event brings together famous international artists, that perform on 4 stages located on the beach.
The festival brings together more than 1.500 electronic music fans daily, 25% of them being tourists from outside the country.
Thanks to SUNWAVES Festival, the summer season is extended by another week, with hotels and restaurants in the northern part of the resort remaining open to accommodate the public. SUNWAVES represents the opening and closing of the summer season.
NEVERSEA FESTIVAL
Neversea Festival is the biggest music festival that takes place on a beach in Europe. The last edition gathered over 80.000 participants every night. It takes place every year on Neversea Beach in Constanța, near Modern beach. The first edition took place in 2017. The festival lasts 3 days and 3 nights; access is based on a ticket or subscription. The event includes impressive scenes with different themes. In 2023, the new Balkanic, Retro Fantasy and Latino scenes delighted the public with different rhythms.
NOSTALGIA FESTIVAL
Nostalgia is the festival that celebrates life and presents the past and the future in a special way. Every year, the organizers prepare sensorial experiences, retro & future decorations, more than 7 different musical areas, mini live acts, surprises and special moments, during the 2 days of the festival.
“Nostalgia” is a retro party, reminiscent of the 90’s. The event aims to create an atmosphere specific to the discotheques of the late 20th and early 21st centuries. The vintage frame of the festival is created with the help of music specific to the times and very well-chosen decor.
MAMAIA MUSIC FESTIVAL
The national Mamaia Music Festival is one of the oldest festivals of this kind in Romania. Mamaia Music Festival 2023 brought together unmistakable voices, from yesterday and today, that delighted generations with unforgettable hits. In 2023, the festival returned to Mamaia resort after 11 years of absence. The event has a 60-year tradition and is a cultural symbol of Mamaia resort, but also of Romania.
The festival, that over time became a cultural-tourist landmark for Romanian society, contains recitals and concerts supported by names launched on the Summer Theater stage, but also by young people who renew the tradition of a representative event for the local music market and for the entire generations of Romanians, also surprises prepared by the organizers.
PUBLIC EVENTS – CONCERTS IN MAMAIA RESORT
An important place among the attractions of the resort is held by the concerts for the general public that take place on Perla square and the one in Mamaia Casino area every weekend, during the summer season. Well-known artists from Romania perform on the stages specially designed for this type of events.
