In the southern part of Transylvania you will find a romantic place to spend your perfect vacation or a short escape from everyday life. In the middle of the baroque park of the summer residence of Samuel von Brukenthal in Avrig (German name Freck), modern guest rooms, VIP rooms and an orangery suite have been arranged for you. The extensive baroque palace garden, the orangery, a restaurant, the historic café, the new adjoining leisure facility “Pirate Ship”, a glass museum and much more will make your stay here an experience.
Guests can enjoy a delicious breakfast on the terrace in the baroque garden, surrounded by blooming flowers and shrubs, or in the restaurant. The highlight of the estate is the Baroque castle. It is situated on a terrace 12 meters high above the Olttal valley, at the highest point in Avrig. The ensemble consists of a main building with three wings, plus two outbuildings. As is customary in Transylvania, the U-shaped plan is not oriented towards the street but towards the park. If you arrive by car, there is a parking lot directly behind the orangery.
